Pisco Bar continues it's run of great bookings into October with this weekend hosting time-traveling, genre-blending, funky-as-hell dance music legends; Soul Clap on 4 October 2018.
Soul Clap will be jumping up to the Pisco decks with a broad selection to whip their dance floor into a frenzy. With a fabulous style that’s distinctively their own, they'll be carving hip hop, funk, soul and disco into a modern house music sound within our holy walls.
As children on earth, they were driven to understand the history of dance music and found their teacher in original Boston disco DJ Caril Mitro, who admitted them into the temple of Vinyl Connection (whose members included Dimitri From Paris and Frankie Knuckles plus many more).
With their roots firmly planted in their hometown of Boston, Soul Clap went out into the world to perform at places like The Marcy Hotel, Fabric, The Electric Pickle and Bar25 and in smaller places in America, Europe, Japan, Mars and Jupiter plus dance floors in other galaxies that you haven´t heard of.
Soul Clap was founded in Boston by Eli "Elyte" Goldstein and Charles "Cynce" Levine in 2001, who met in high school. Record store owner and house DJ Caril Mitro was a mentor and influence on their early genre-mixing sound.
They began throwing their own parties in Boston around 2001, before starting to tour around 2007, deejaying on the underground club circuit, where they began steadily gathering acclaim for their bootlegs of R&B classics and house remixes.
By harnessing the past Soul Clap looks to the future. In 2012 they released their debut long player, EFUNK: The Album. Pushing their musical message even deeper, Soul Clap proudly launched Soul Clap Records, a sounding board for original material, a framework for their own funky family and a spotlight on undiscovered talent from their hometown of Boston and beyond.
Soul Clap Records also completes the trinity now known as Crew Love, a family formed with Wolf + Lamb and Double Standard Records.
