For the entire month of August, the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel's Sedap buffet is showcasing Japanese cuisine with the help of guest chef Hiroshi Masuda. The hotel's buffet is a homage to the Japanese culinary arts, offering freshly made sashimi and sushi alongside other Japanese classics such as grilled black cod teriyaki and deep-fried tempura.
The City List sent Ribuha Anuar to the opening night to learn more and sample the delights on offer. Having wandered along the spacious buffet, Ribuha started her gastronomic trip through Japan with a fresh selection of sashimi, including her favourites, Salmon and bluefin tuna and various pieces of sushi.
She also enjoyed some tasty chawanmushi, teppanyaki, oden, and fresh from the fryer prawn tempura from the cooked food station and continued with tasting the miso soup, grilled black cod teriyaki and fried sea bass, completing her trip through Japan's culinary delights.
While the "Kaiseki" cuisine is clearly the buffet star, other dishes are available with a full range of steamed seafood like prawns and mussels with delicious sauces. The fresh oyster bar was another great addition to the local delights, such as curry, Rempah chicken, Kung Pao chicken, wok-fried vegetables and rice, amongst others.
If you still have room for more food, Ribuha recommends checking out the wide variety of desserts available. These included frozen yoghurt, fried ice cream, blueberry crumble, and some sumptuous cakes. With a full drinks menu and Japanese signature green tea, also on offer to help wash down all this delectable food.
Located in the lobby of the Pullman, Sedap restaurant is open for dinner daily from 6.30 pm until 10 pm with the special Japanese buffet priced at
RM238 per adult and RM119 per child (6 – 12 years old. Children under 6 dine for free.). An extra RM48 per person buys a free-flow of juices, soft drinks, beer and house wine to complement the dinner. All prices quoted are subject to an additional 6% service tax.
