2022, the year of the Tiger ushers us into a roaring celebration of Lou Sang or Yee Sang. Where everyone gathers together with their chopsticks lifting high for a prosperous year.
Chynna has introduced a unique way of celebrating. Their signature Lou Sang ushers us with their signature dish, the crispy Mizayaki Wagyu Beef; yes you heard it right, well, deliciously coated & with crispy sounds while the Mizayaki melts in your mouth. Never tried it before? Well, you should.
Chef Lam Hock Hin is Hilton Chynna’s Executive Chef and has brought a lot of flavours for this coming Chinese New Year Menu, serving the Signature Poon Choy; a must-have on every Chinese New Year. Bringing more luck and prosperity in businesses and abundance in good health to everyone.
One course comes with their warm, hearty but simple looking soup. Braised with pumpkin, shredded chicken and vegetarian fin. The comforting soup is flavorful & rich in Vitamin C, a healthy good choice for the immune system and skin. Kids will definitely love it, not just the adults. I call this the comfort nourishing soup for all ages.
The next must-have is the simmered free-range chicken cooked with black sugar and premium soy sauce. Its method of cooking preserves the flavour and definitely tastes fantastic.
Fish is, on all occasions, the all time favorite dish throughout the world. ‘Yu’ in Chinese means wealth, luck and prosperity. They steamed the Sea Barramundi with Thai green lime sauce, bursting with flavour and compliments well with the flesh of the sweet fish. Barramundi itself has its unique natural sweetness with the slight tartness of the Lime. The dish is indeed unique.
The Claypot comes stewed in generous slices of abalone, sea cucumber, sun-dried oyster, fatt choy (black moss), mushrooms and bran gluten wok-fried celery and lotus root with seaweed flavours, scallop and prawns. Vegetables are definitely a must during the Chinese New Year as it symbolizes wealth and on the 1st Day of Chinese New Year, many go vegetarian. Who doesn’t like wealth, well now everyone has no excuses for eating vegetables.
Noodles are a Chinese all-time favourite, whether you are young or old. The Noodles represent longevity, which means long life. In ancient culture to date, noodles are the staple of every meal or occasion. Chynna serves a fragrant fried noodle with Ham Heong style with chicken slices.
The final episode of the menu comes the nicely decorated Yin & Yang dessert, the Osmanthus Jelly and deep-fried lotus paste glutinous Mandarin looking rice ball. The Osmanthus aka ‘Gui Hua’ is a strong fragrant flower and blooms in white & yellow; smells like peaches or apricot. The Chinese believe it symbolizes nobility, fertility, peace, true love and faithfulness. During the Dynasty, Osmanthus are the royals' and nobles' all-time favourite and now passed on to all generations as it means to produce noble children. It's the city's flavour of Hangzhou and grew over 2,500 years ago.
