Hailing from one of the best nightspots in Jakarta, Indonesia, Dragonfly extends its branches to the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre. Located on the 50th floor of Naza Tower Platinum Park, beholds Dragonfly KL – a brand new nightclub featuring a breathtaking sky view with different music styles to suit every music lover’s tingling dance senses.
The new place to be in town after sunsets every Wednesday to Saturday featured textures and elements from the walls up to its ceiling drawn from the Asian culture influence. With the brand new jazzed up stellar lighting effect all the way from Barcelona, it is sure to give clubbers a wow effect.
Setting the tone from the late 90’s with R&B all the way to new school Hip Hop during its weekday signature nights, featuring some of the local scene’s most experienced DJs. Leading into the weekends will see a more upbeat modern sound from the club as the resident DJs will be playing anything from electronic dance music to open format.
The soft opening weekend of 28 & 29 June, Dragonfly will see its first international acts. Vicetone – a Dutch electronic duo who has been topping charts on Beatport and Hype Machine will be debuting on Friday; whereas Saturday is when ever-popular regionally based DJ Crystal Q hits the stage. With their all-time high stage performances worldwide, these acts will for sure make an impactful soft launch to DRAGONFLY KL’s patrons.
This past year has been a standout one for Vicetone members Ruben Den Boer and Victor Pool, who throughout the course of their career have racked up numerous Top10 singles on Beatport and #1 singles on the Hype Machine charts.
Vicetone have also appeared on the DJ Mag Top 100 list for the past 3 years running. 2016 saw the release of the duo's first EP Aurora on Spinnin', in addition to returning to the label Monstercat with their acclaimed melodic hit Nevada (over 15 million on Spotify).
In addition to performing at renowned clubs and festivals including Ibiza's Ushuaia, Ministry of Sound in London and Ultra Music Festival, the pair are thrilling crowds across Europe, Asia and North America. Vicetone’s new single I Hear You is out now via Monstercat.
