Fans of Taiwanese (indie-pop/synth-pop/soft rock) band, Sunset Rollercoaster 落日飛車 rejoice as the band has announced their return concert to Malaysia this 17 June, 2023 (Saturday) at Zepp KL.
Named the Infinity Sunset Tour and presented by Hivefest — the team behind 88rising’s 2017 tour in Thailand — this will be Sunset Rollercoaster’s first full-fledged concert in Malaysia.
Comprising of Tseng Kuo-Heng (vocals/guitar), Chen Hung-Li (bass), Lo Tsun-Lung (drums), Wang Shao- Hsuan (keyboard), and Huang Hao-Ting (Saxophone); Sunset Rollercoaster originally debuted in 2011 with their album “Bossa Nova,” before going on hiatus and reuniting in 2015. Their official return to the music scene in 2016 marked the release of a continuous string of hit songs with several critically acclaimed albums including the ever popular "Jinji Kikko" and "Cassa Nova."
With a laid-back vibe of soulful, psychedelic sounds paired with city pop and jazz, Sunset Rollercoaster’s tunes are reminiscent of the iconic 80s — a nostalgic style of breezy, chilled out music that is both dreamy and romantic, yet strangely melancholic. While various narratives have been used to describe their unique genre of music, the band continues to evolve in the way they produce their recordings, ensuring a constantly fresh and dynamic listening experience yet still keeping to the core of their signature island-inspired sound.
It is clear that Sunset Rollercoaster’s silky-smooth music and quirky personalities have proven to be a winning formula.
