Frontline medical staff and police are receiving freshly prepared meals through an initiative of Persatuan Care Selangor.
Through Persatuan Care Selangor, Ramada Suites by Wyndham KLCC, Hugo’s KL, and new courier service iSend are supporting Sungai Buloh Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital with organising 150 daily meal deliveries for staff.
The service is also delivering 100 meals daily to Kuala Lumpur’s Police Headquarters. To assist with food preparation, Hotel Memoir Suites and Para Thai are donating 150 daily meals to the cause from today.
Although closed to the public for dining, Hugo’s KL’s kitchen is still open and providing breakfast for current Ramada Suites By Wyndham KLCC guests. Thus, the kitchen is preparing extra meals each day for delivery.
“Our police, doctors and nurses are facing extraordinary workloads due to Covid-19,” said Dato’ Indera Naresh Mohan, Chairman of Persatuan Care Selangor. “This assistance is a small gesture to help them get through this health crisis. If individuals and corporations would like to donate, this will ensure our food preparation and meal deliveries can increase and continue long-term if the Movement Control Order is not lifted on 31 March.”
“Hospital staff are working around the clock to treat Covid-19 patients, and a freshly prepared meal is a simple way to show our support and gratitude to these unsung heroes,” said Mr Rajesh Daswani, General Manager of Ramada Suites by Wyndham KLCC.
iSend, a new courier company operating in Klang Valley, is donating their services to deliver the meals to the hospitals and police.
“iSend have been delivering these meals to the hospitals each day this week and staff at the hospitals are so happy to receive a freshly made dinner, said iSend’s General Manager Ahmad Nazri Abbas, “Our drivers Ahmad Arizal bin Baharom and Zaenal Arifin bin Maa’som are doing a great job and we’re proud to be a part of this initiative which supports the police and medical staff.”
