The Sweatbox turns 8 this Saturday. From the iconic sunrises at Elysium to the basement vibes of Ren @ Kyo, they have been pouring their music love onto Malaysian dance floors and beyond; resulting in hundreds of guest appearances and a huge variety of underground electronic music to keep you grooving all night long. Currently, The Sweatbox parties run on Saturdays, bimonthly at their new home on Kuna Rooftop and so, they invite you to celebrate with them these amazing years of great music this Saturday, 4 November 2023. They have invited two special guests, Aracil and Reno Renatama, to make welcome returns to play for Sweatbox.
Reno Renatama is a force to be reckoned with in Indonesia's underground music industry. His unshakable passion for the craft has allowed him to become a skilled music producer and DJ in the local scene for over a decade, playing at a wide range of events, from intimate underground parties to massive music festivals. Some of his most renowned tracks include the Sweatbox Records released Law of Closure, earning thousands of streams on online music platforms after being played by Green Velvet, and Claude Von Stroke. Among his latest releases, also on Sweatbox Records Weekender EP. Reno's production style highlights ethnic Indonesian instruments and sounds such as the gamelan and voices of Sinden singers. These beautiful sounds intertwined with electronic music elements create wonderful music that celebrates Indonesia's culture whilst rocking the underground music scene with its creative ingenuity.
Hailing from Spain and influenced by the vibrant electronic music scene of London, Aracil's mixture of energy and harmonies defines his personal sound, which rides between the melancholy and euphoria that distinguish a very unique style of production, as he is always trying to push forward the boundaries, and tell a story with every song. His style as a DJ ranges from pure deep house to melodic techno, with many influences of music from Berlin. Since 2012, Aracil has been part of the Ibiza scene, performing in most of the best known venues of the Island, Sankeys, Space, Pacha, Privilege, Ushuaia or Km5, Destino, Heart Ibiza and Acid Sundays, with his work as a producer and touring DJ.
Also featuring for the night will be Azran together with Sweatbox residents RIMKA, Meliha and Obadius.
