Swish at Drop KL 8 June 2018

DROP KL goes Swish this Friday 8 June with doses of designer disco, gourmet garage and champagne house from your residents of this new club on TREC, with Dj's Da Funkie Junkie, DJ Biscuit, Jose Nigel and Jazzerimo.

Pioneer of soul, funk, jazz and disco in the dance music context in Malaysia, Da Funkie Junkie is also Asia’s main ambassador and master of disco, garage and deep soulful house. He has DJed all around the world playing at some of the best clubs. He has also hosted an award-winning, critically acclaimed international dance music radio show for many years.

Jose Nigel, as one of the pioneers of house music in Malaysia, has been DJing since the early 90s. Jose has played on the same bill as many big name international DJs that have visited Malaysian shores. As a resident of pioneering soulful house clubs like Bliss and Nouvo, Jose has DJed with everyone from Louie Vega (Masters At Work) to Miguel Migs and more. It is not uncommon for Jose to play marathon DJ sets encompassing everything from deep soulful house to Afro-Latin vibes.

DJ Biscuit: Daniela Horeanga is a PR professional by day and an all-things-music purveyor by night. Having started as a Journalist in her home country – Romania, her passion for communication and public relations landed her a job in Malaysia 13 years ago. Not long after, Daniela discovered her affinity to electronic dance music and her pursuit to grow its presence in Asia has become a mission. She started organizing events in The Philippines and Thailand.

Dj Biscuit at DROP KL goes Swish This Friday 8th June

The owner of Art Xtreme Media, an events/art creation company she established in Malaysia 3 years ago, Daniela hosts various music events throughout KL's nightlife circuit. Art Xtreme Media is the founder of the weekly party -”The Sweatbox” and the monthly parties “Taboo” - both hosted at Elysium KL and the newer “Off The Record” hosted at Drop KL. Her passion for the music and furthermore her desire to harness the electronic music scene in Malaysia has led to a multitude of collaborations across the spectrum. From worldwide artists and producers to publications, clubs and event spaces which host her parties, radio stations and to several music exchange programs in the region.

The desire to deliver a message through her music and the events Art Xtreme Media organises has led Daniela to get behind the decks herself. 2017 marked the year when DJ Biscuit was born and it equally marked her natural progression to deliver her message through her music picks. Currently she hosts “Biscuit +Friends” every Wednesday at Elysium KL, a deeper, house music oriented night.

This year marks a new addition for here with Sweatbox Records. The record label launched in April 2018 is a platform for both local and worldwide producers to showcase their music abilities in tune with the vibe of The Sweatbox parties. Sweatbox Records' first compilation: “From Sunset To Sunrise Vol 1” gathers 25 artists and 21 tracks meant to reflect the journey-oriented vibe of Saturday nights, brimming with good fun and energy. Sweatbox records is a collaboration with the UK-hailing My Digital Enemy (currently known as MDE), a worldwide acclaimed duo of producers/artists who are also running their own labels- Vudu and Zulu records.

With an ever-expanding regional and worldwide family of music aficionados, Daniela shows no signs of stopping with more projects underway- from hosting festival stages to organizing larger scale events. Whether it is a dream for now, the same passion and desire to deliver good vibes to Asia's growing electronic music market will surely set Daniela on the path to turning the dreams into reality.
