The Sweatbox is back at Kuna Rooftop this Saturday, 2 March 2024 with a special guest who makes his Malaysia debut - James Taylor (AUS/Red Ruby).
Entering the game at the tail end of the 20th century, James rose through the ranks of Australia’s dance community, becoming a leading figure in the Electronic Music scene in the process. Not wanting to be pigeonholed, James got started on leaving his footprint over the whole industry instantly and over 15 years managed to delve into all aspects of Australia’s dance music culture
Over this time James sold Vinyl at BPM Records, hosted a premier Dance Music Radio show for 7 years, (Sunsets on FBI 94.5FM), and took on the roll of Music Director in a bunch of well respected nightclubs in Sydney, all whilst still DJing full time at some of the premier clubs around Australia. Over this period James ranked in the Top 50 Australian DJs Awards and ranked 2nd in the 3D World Best Sydney DJ award.
In 2015 – James was recruited from Australia for the job of Music Director and Resident DJ of Koh in Bali, Indonesia. A club that was quick to gain a legendary underground status in its 2 years of operations. Since moving to Bali, James has gained DJ residencies at some of Bali’s best venues including – Omnia, The Vault, Ulu Cliffhouse, Oldmans, Red Ruby
In 2018, James won the Prestigious award of BEST HOUSE & TECHNO DJ in Bali, at the BEAT MAG Awards and continues to make waves with his exquisite curation duties and music direction at one of Asia’s leading dancing venues - Red Ruby as well as performances at clubs and festivals all over the world.
James will be joined this Saturday by Sweatbox residents - Meliha and Obadius as well as two of Malaysia’s movers and shakers of the past two decades - Alam and Terence C - in an exclusive b2b performance. an exquisite blend of house and techno styles merging together on this edition and, of course , Expect some absolute vibes.
