Art Xtreme Media’s The Sweatbox grows its wings and flies North to Bangkok to De Commune this Friday 18 May 2018 to host the first edition of this collaboration. Sweatbox resident Otherkind together with Raff Track (FR) will be at the music helm to spread the Sweatbox party vibe from Kuala Lumpur. Expect a moody, dark and epic b2b episode from these two gentlemen as they delve in their record bags and spread the love of music to bustling Bangkok.
The Sweatbox recently launched Sweatbox Records in April a 21 track compilation featuring regional talents from Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia alongside the likes of Mark Fanciulli of Saved, Matt Smallwood of Toolroom and Victor Simonelli, just to name a few. The “From Sunset To Sunrise Vol 1” compilation has garnered worldwide support and continues to create and shape the Asian soundscape with a vision to bring into the spotlight the Asia based producers.
Raff Track then heads down to KL on 19 May 2018 for The Sweatbox Oh By The Way curated by Sweatbox resident Obadius. Also featuring for the night will be RaySoo.
Raff Track has a minimal, deep and dark approach to music, and both his releases on Athee and his Sweatbox Records release- 'Shenzen” reveal a certain sensibility and a tight connection with anything organic and natural. A very creative DJ/producer, Raff Track is preparing for the second release on Sweatbox Records- A 3-track EP called “Micro Spelling”, out at the end of May and currently, he is organizing 2 very popular events in Bali: Techno Sake and Shifter at Jenja.
Otherkind's releases on Kommunications Records and the recent “Silent Space” featured on Sweatbox Records compilation along with his resident partner Obadius reveal a versatile style in both production and performance. Otherkind's 15 years experience as a musician started by mastering the Tumbak, a percussion instrument specific to his country of origin – Iran and further holding residencies in Dubai and Malaysia. His live performances also reveal a very smooth, techy and vibrant style.
RaySoo is one of Asia’s leading DJs. His unique and quirky sense of electronic house music has taken him the world over. Steadily building up a strong catalogue of his own elastic style of productions on various labels such as Love International, Raum and Pornographic and taking his unique and captivating DJ talent on tours across Europe, Asia, Middle East and Australia in recent years. His label Love International, with near 40 releases to date by artists from all around the world, is an official charitable label.
Obadius is synonymous with melodicity. Hailing from Tehran, Iran and currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, Obadius has been steadily building a name for himself in the local scene.
The influences in his music are from artists who are remarkable through the complexity and depth of their sound, crafty producers of progressive and melodic pieces, not necessarily known for their name but for the incredible skills they have behind the decks or in the studio.
