We Review: Three Years Old Cafe Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

We Review: Three Years Old Cafe Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

Not your ordinary place to have a sip of coffee or hang out. Unwind at the Three Years Old Cafe newly opened and nestled in the city at Jalan Sin Chew Kee just behind the Swiss Garden Hotel.

It’s a corner lot, painted all white while maintaining its 1920s structure, the sleek look reminds me of the Old Kuching Heritage - some exterior similarity shared by the old architectural layout.

When you enter, you can smell the coffee brewing whilst greeted by the Three lovely ladies who are not only the owners but where the 'Three' got its name from.

The cafe serves a wide range of coffee and non-coffee drinks like tea, juices and others to choose from on their menu from scrumptious cakes to light appetizing healthy meals to soothe your hungry tummies. The desserts were selling pretty fast when I got there so few varieties were left.

When I arrived, it was actually quite busy, so I ordered The Smoked Duck Spaghetti and hot Matcha Latte which was something really light & easy.

The Smoked Duck was moist with a punch of spiciness for that Asian fusion taste and was yummy whilst the hot Matcha Latte aka Green Tea Latte was a little too heavy on the powder for my liking, you may opt for a lighter version or simply dilute with a little more warm milk from one of their friendly staff. A warm meal and a cup of drink would cost you around RM 30+.

I also ordered a couple of desserts and decided on the Chocolate Cake, Matcha Cake, Croissant and a Brownie. The Brownies were absolutely heavenly. You could taste the moist chocolaTEE, not too sweet and pairs pretty well with your cup of tea or coffee. The pastry and cakes are also reasonably ranged between RM10 and below RM 20, well worth trying!!

You may want to invite your friends for a tea/coffee party so you could share a variety of cakes together and not miss out on the choices. Every choice was tempting and delightful to my eyes!

Besides that, Three Years Old Cafe has the option for indoor or outdoors seatings. You could have the morning breeze and fresh air outside and in the afternoon It’s shaded so you don’t feel the heat at all which is nice since we are always staying indoors during this pandemic. The indoor interior is set up with simple contemporary modern furniture and the naked areas are decorated with plants or simple decors, we suspect this is going to be the next insta hangout soon!

Overall, it’s definitely purse/wallet friendly and the next zen place to be for all ages, families, friends and for those who wish to work on small business talks, a cheat day on trying new desserts or a mini catch up type of place in town set in a lovely cosy environment.

An added bonus is that it has ample space to have special occasions like birthdays, baby showers, proposals, small weddings and many more.  It can host up to 70-100 pax. Whether the entire area or just the upper floor and we suggest booking up well in advance. The parking can be a little challenging so bear in mind when going and maybe carpool or grab instead.
