Mastermind behind critically-acclaimed projects like Kendrick’s To Pimp A Butterfly and Flying Lotus’ You’re Dead ! , Thundercat is all set to play Kuala Lumpur on 7 April The Bee, Publika.
Born into a family of very musically-inclined people, the Grammy-winning virtuoistic bassist/vocalist and musical chameleon known professionally as Thundercat has had his sonic footprint ingrained deeply across records spanning genres all across the spectrum – from legendary thrash metal outfit Suicidal Tendencies albums, Kendrick Lamar’s landmark statement To Pimp A Butterfly (he netted a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Performance for his work on the track These Walls) , Flying Lotus’ highly-lauded, conceptual projects , and Travis Scott’s recent alleged magnum opus, Astroworld.
Apart from his immaculate work on those blessed enough to collaborate with him, Thundercat himself has released 3 critically-acclaimed solo albums to this date. The LA native’s latest offering, Drunk (he’s touring this round the wolrd now), is a 23-track epic journey into the often hilarious, sometimes dark mind of the man and finds a few of his friends joining him on the album along the way including Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Wiz Khalifa, Kamasi Washington and Brainfeeder mastermind Flying Lotus.
