Bucking mainstream K-pop trends, 혁오 HYUKOH stormed to the forefront of South Korea’s indie rock scene with their trademark guitar-heavy ballads. Their unconventional sound and youthful vibe earned them the title ‘Band of the New Generation” and will be live In KL at KL LIVE this 20 February 2019.
Formed in 2014, the Korean indie sensation is made up of Oh Hyuk (vocals/guitar), Im Dong-geon (bass), Lim Hyun-jae (lead guitar), and Lee In-woo (drums). Their debut EP 20 gained popularity solely by word of mouth, without any media promotion. In 2015, HYUKOH released 22, which charted in the top 10 of Billboard’s ‘World Albums’ chart. The group has since won a Mnet Music Award for ‘Best Band Performance’, ‘Best Modern Rock Album of the Year’ at the 15th Korean Music Awards, opened for international indie acts like Mac Demarco and Erlend Oye, and embarked on successful world tours.
