Art Xtreme Media’s The Sweatbox features a very special appearance on 27 January with the Malaysian debut of Victor Simonelli (US), one of the most influential figures in New York's dance music evolution.
Victor Simonelli's name is synonymous with the cutting edge of the Dance Music scene. Simonelli is one of the New York’s finest and most prolific DJ's.
He was also one of the early pioneers of the unique NYC underground dance music movement that has now become a phenomenon it its own right and religiously followed by the clubbing faithful the world over. A producer/re-mixer, song writer, record label owner, and highly sought after DJ, are just four facets of this multi-talented man. New York house heavyweight and prolific producer since the turn of the 1990s. Simonelli is responsible for some of the best house music to come out of New York, recording for a dizzying array of labels (including Nu Groove, Tribal America, Fourth Floor, Sub-Urban, UMM, King Street Sounds, Vibe and Playtime), under a similarly wide range of aliases (Groove Committee, Cloud 9, Solution , amongst many others).
Producing, writing, remixing and working with the likes of Kerri Chandler, Nile Rodgers, Ray Charles, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales Micheal Jackson and Quincy Jones to name but a few, Simonelli tours regularly and is ever a part of the music scene of today.
The Sweatbox resident Otherkind and his How Deep? edition, focuses on digging deep into music to bring you to the forefront the hidden dance floor gems we all crave for. Co-resident Obadius will join in as well.
