The Wednesday night routine ? started well over a month ago now. Set on every Wednesday at The Iron Fairies KL – Butterfly Room, it’s designed for music lovers, DJs, musicians, promoters, nightlife people, artistes, aspiring music folks, ladies – who get free drinks all night, night owls and everyone who wants a quality night out every Wednesday. Brought to you by Biscuit of Art Xtreme Media and the Iron Fairies KL team, this week 22 May, it’s time for Westseven, Dora and Otherkind to join Biscuit this night.
In a current musical climate where originality can often be overtaken by the mundane and regular, Soul de Anima’s Westseven’s tireless devotion and relentless energy have taken him to a point where he is beginning to shape the musical world around him. With regular signings to Anjunadeep, productions out on Bedrock, Click, City Fox and What I Play 2018 and 2019 continues to gain momentum. 2017 saw the birth of his own imprint, Soul de Anima, gaining plaudits the world over from the HQ in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Over the last five years and more, Westseven has also taken his sound around Asia including various clubs in Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur. Tokyo and Sri Lanka.
Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Dora started performing and playing at a young age with a manifold of music instruments. Besides her passion for performing, she discovered her passion for being a disc jockey performing in Kuala Lumpur's multifaceted nightlife compiling a variety of styles and tunes in dance music ambiences ranging from groovy and deep house to tech house and techno. She was mentored by some of Malaysia's pioneer DJs/producers Ray Soo and Xes Xes Loveseat.
She has become a renowned disk jockey in the scene and has adapted a very unique vibe and sound inspired by other DJs in various genres such of club and dance music utilizing different styles of scratching and mixing.
She’s a regular invite as guest DJ at various major events in Kuala Lumpur, playing at venues such as HedKandi in St Regis Malaysia in 2017, opening for Nora En Pure in Terrace Bar, Elysium, Bakita, Frangipani, Red Room, Pisco, Aloft, Sweatbox, Le Noir KL, Daydream and many more.
Hailing from Tehran, Otherkind is an exciting DJ with a decade and a half of underground experience under his belt. Having mastered the art of playing the Tumbak and ZARB, a percussion instrument specific to Iran, allows him to incorporate a specific style to his DJ sets, playful and solid and at the same time smooth and melodic. Breezing through music genres Otherkind's focus is on deep house and techno and his journey is uplifting, sensible and epic. 2017 and 2018 has seen Otherkind in the studio, honing his production skills and bringing up releases on Kommunication Records and Sweatbox Records, with many more to come.
