Kuala Lumpur Nightlife Guide - Live, Arts, Stage & Comedy 19 October 2022

October sounds with a selection of what's going on with Live Music, arts, theatre, and comedy across the Klang Valley this week ahead. Be Supportive. Be careful. Be Alert, Be Kind. Stay Safe and Enjoy. Be mindful of all SOPs in place.

THE BEE PUBLIKA KL

Hello, I'm New is a series created as a springboard for new and fresh artists to showcase their skills. Throughout the pandemic, tons of new artists have popped out but with no real platforms to perform at. Now, that things are back to normal - THIS is the perfect place. Come on out and discover amazing 100% homegrown Malaysian artists all in one place. 22nd October 2022. 8pm onwards. The Bee, Publika. With Mascot, Porcelane, Keith Kamalaraj and Saint Kylo.

Mascot: If you love emo, you'd love them. Donning a 5th wave emo sound, jangly sparkly bright sounding with a hint of frantic screaming is what you can expect from the boys of Mascot. Such a great band to check out. They've been gaining a lot of traction and fans all over Malaysia. For fans of Hot Mulligan, Origami Angel, Mineral, Mom Jeans and The Hotelier.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aDGjvVO8WU
SAINT KYLO: Probably one of the hardest working artist in KL. The man is fresh but has got so much soul like as if James Brown reincarnated. If you love funk, you'd love him.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uETnSaRNgkc
Keith Kamalaraj: A bit of blues rock and a bit of grunge. Guitar-driven adult rock is what would be best to describe Keith Kamalaraj's music. For fans of Alter Bridge, John Mayer and Stone Temple Pilots.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV2pTvopnAg
Porcelane: Young and fresh. A little bit of indie and a bit of shoegaze and emo. Good music that'll take you on a trip. Inspired by bands like Basement and Nothing.

FONO KL

This Thursday , they welcome singer-songwriter and fellow music promoter Brendan de Cruz for the showcase of his latest release in our stage-less room. The last time they had anything folk-ish pop was back in 2018 (with Impatient Sisters). Brendan de Cruz will be unveiling his brand new sound with his brand new band. If somehow you’re into the good ol 90s alt-rock guitar sounds and synth-y indie pop songwriting with folk sensibility (imagine Radiohead meets The Killer meets Damien Rice), then you might not want to miss this. We have limited spots to ensure everyone will have a good experience, so don’t wait till the very last minute to decide.

For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/fono.kl and their Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/fono.kl/. Opening hours 9PM to 1AM. For this event, RM50 cover includes 1 drink. They recommend you make a reservation via Instagram DM to secure your spot for the night.
