Youngr is a solo outlet for Dario Darnell, a songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, and vocalist who makes eclectic, slightly left-of-centre pop. The son of August Darnell, aka Kid Creole, Darnell made his (presumably) first recorded appearance in the early 90s, on his father's To Travel Sideways. One of its songs featured wind chimes from him and his sibling Lorne Ashley Brigham-Bowes, youngsters whose musical association extended into adulthood.
As Youngr, Darnell released a handful of tracks across the latter half of 2016 and early 2017, including the free-spirited party track "Out of My System," the ballad "Too Keen," and acoustic versions. Additionally, he synthesized vintage disco-funk and early house with his remix of Tove Lo's "True Disaster." A compilation of his various releases was issued in January 2018 under the title, “This Is Not an Album”, and in 2020 he released “Memories” and just this year saw the release of his latest long player “Let The Music Guide Us”.
