Crackhouse Workshops Presents: Crowdwork & Improv w. Trevor Lock

Having worked the English comedy circuit for over 20 years, Trevor Lock has developed a unique brand of spontaneous stand-up bringing together witty wordplay and stream of consciousness improv, with true stories, one-liners, and absurd flights of fancy.

No two shows are the same as Trevor has gained a worldwide cult following, supporting both Stewart Lee and Russell Brand.

This workshop explores the comic's art of setting aside scripted material and interacting with a crowd. It's about how to be 'in the moment', even in front of a crowd of strangers, to find what's funny and bring an audience along for a ride.

Beginning with exercises in improvisation, participants seek to generate original points of view, unfolding them in ways that accentuate cognitive dissonance. Learning to work with comedic personae, and overcoming nerves and nay-sayers, stories are built and broken down on the spot. Ending in a hilarious spontaneous unscripted performance.
