Elysium Box presents: Taboo 10

The 10th edition of Taboo comes this Friday, November 3rd with an A grade line up of seasoned selectors. If this Taboo was a woman she would be a perfect 10, full on, gorgeous and everything your imagination has fathomed!
Think of this tenner as the musical experience you are about to have in all its splendour!
In terms of music , the complexity of such line up will lure you into niche genres and surprising performances . From funky grooves to garage to basslines to breaks to house of the rarest variety to liquid, this edition has it all and it features our regulars No Requests (Toolroom Records, Zulu, UK). Ken DMA (UK) with a more leftfield approach and 2 KL music pioneers : Da Funkie Junkie , joining us for the very first time and Leonard Sinclair, returning to the box- this time at Taboo, after a long absence caused by gigging nearly everyday for the past year.
Donovan- aka Da Funkie Junkie is a purist at heart. Having gained his 2 decades plus of inspiration from Mancuso's Loft and Larry Levan's Paradise Garage, he is a pivotal charachter to Malaysia's electronic music. One of the most esteemed DJs and Promoters of the first wave of non mainstream music, he has booked played alongside world's most relevant artists. A master on vinyl, he was the last to give up the traditional ways to newer technology , however , his heart was left somewhere in a crate of rare grooves records and his soul will be poured out this Friday at taboo towards our tiny but hearty dancefloor. His music collection is impressive and we really doubt that we will find the same selection in any other DJ's music library. We look forward to his debut at Taboo!

Have you ever heard a DJ mixing breakbeat and then the next thing you know he is playing a trance anthem ? If you haven't , then enter Leonard Sinclair. Another established presence in Malaysia's music scene, Leo is charachterized by an amazing taste in music and an undoubted versatility. He is an amazing crowd reader and an excellent entertainer. The principle " music not genres" fully applies in Leonard's case and furthermore, his vibe and spirit are totally contagious.

Top that up with the energy of No Request's set and his ability to startle a dancefloor into submission in mere minutes and Ken DMA's charisma and crowd pleasing abilities behind the decks and you get a taste of the Taboo experience this Friday.
