Gostan Forward is an inter-generational collaboration between 64-year old dancer- choreographer Marion D’Cruz and 37-year old director Mark Teh. Both are members of Five Arts Centre, a collective of artists, producers and activists in Malaysia. 

Gostan Forward is an excavation and exploration of Marion's dance memory. This performance lecture traces Marion's growth as a student, dancer, choreographer and educator, and reveals her choices, strategies and influences over the span of her 40-year dance career in Malaysia. Marion tells stories and performs excerpts of her favourite and most significant dance pieces, including Terinai, Swan Song, Urn Piece, Chilayu, and more.

This performative uncovering of a dancer’s history and her choices, is interlaced with a parallel journey across the development of contemporary dance and Malaysian politics, from the 80’s to current times. 

The performance has been performed in: 
- Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor Baru, Malaysia (2009, 2014), 
- The Studios Belonging(s) season, at the Esplanade, Singapore (2010), 
- ConversAsians, at the Esplanade, Singapore (2012), 
- KOBE-ASIA Contemporary Dance Festival #2 at Dance Box, Japan (2012), and 
- Shifting Dialogues III: Documenting Asian Art and Performance: Embodied Knowledge, Virtuality & the Archive, University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland (2014).
