Igor Stravinsky was only 27 years old when he wrote Firebird, the ballet which would catapult him to international fame. This legendary bird’s feathers were thought to bestow beauty and protection upon the earth. The vibrant MPYO and conductor Naohisa Furusawa performs the explosive Firebird, along with Shostakovich’s Jazz Suites and Tchaikovsky’s timeless Swan Lake.
