Rachmaninoff’s adored 2nd piano concerto tugs at our heartstrings with sweeping themes and lush harmonies. Dedicated to his hypnotherapist, this was the comeback which relaunched his career. Its iconic slow movement was later immortalized in several Hollywood films and even a pop ballad! Featuring pianist Yevgeny Sudbin and Stanislav Kochanovsky conducting Lutoslawski’s folk-inspired Concerto for Orchestra.
