Moving into the third week of June for the clubbing scene here in Kuala Lumpur. Here are some...
Singer-songwriter Zalila Lee has been gigging in and about Kuala Lumpur for the past decade or so. Armed with gritty vocals and an acoustic guitar; she often sings about thoughts and circumstances through a crossbreed of plucking, strumming, and palm-thumping –as evidenced in the rhythmic ride of her album “Shadows”, that was released in 2014.
Expect a mix of grooves from blues and indie rock, with a steady staple of alternative folk. She is joined on stage by Mariamlisa Zainal Abidin on cello, Savy Ho and Cheah Wei Li on the violin.
