Sid's Pub DAMANSARA HEIGHTS
Plaza Damansara is their fourth outlet, set in the leafy surburb of Damansara, only 20 minutes from KL. It's a convivial, friendly and amazing little hangout and sacred ground for the rugby faithful from the nearby Royal Selangor Club. The same menu, the same efficient and warm service and the same atmosphere you would expect at a Sid's Pub. There's always something going on here and there's always a nice lively mix of characters around the bar, putting the world to rights or doing a postmortem on last night's game. The pub stays open as long as it needs to, depending on what's on the telly and how severe the rain is etc. You should pay a visit if you're in the area, it's a pub well worth dropping in to and, as Best British Overseas Pub 2012-13 (The Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk), you might want to say you've been to the best in Kuala Lumpur, if not the world. We look forward to seeing you soon
Sid’s Pubs are neighbourhood British pubs serving up good, hearty British pub grub and fresh, cold drink in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. No nonsense, no pretensions and no gimmicks. Deliberately small and intimate, Sid’s Pubs are dotted around a variety of neighbourhoods, the idea being to provide a convivial feeding and watering hole close to home for residents of the area. Community is a word we feel strongly about and we believe it’s important to be part of it, and to give back to it. To this end we also do our best to get stuck into as many community projects as possible.
The first Sid’s Pub opened in 2007, others following suit in close succession. The man behind the Sid’s Pubs group is Sid, also known as Geoff Siddle — and Dad. A straight-up, no-nonsense man himself, he has the uncanny ability to create outlets that quickly fill up with happy, friendly people having a great time together. The Sid’s Pubs family is his special baby; driven by passion and brought about after years of thought and planning.
There are no big advertisements, no big banners, no shouting across the rooftops about Sid’s but, for all this reticence, we are big in substance and atmosphere. You’ll find that Sid’s Pubs, nestled quietly and unobtrusively in their individual neighbourhoods, are bursting with life. Under their Sid’s Pub canopies and within their unassuming black and white walls lie thriving nests of activity: Each Sid’s Pub is lively and dynamic, full of diverse bunches of punters enjoying themselves and being a part of a community, in this instance Sid’s community.
