Guests dining at Chynna will be treated to a plethora of fun activities ranging from a Lion Dance performance on 26th January, an appearance by the God of Prosperity on Chinese New Year’s eve dinner & Chinese New Year Day during lunch service, a Fortune Teller Appearance (算命) on Chinese New Year’s day one’s Lunch and Chinese Calligraphy Activity (挥春) on Chinese New Year second day’s Lunch. Diners will receive mandarin orange, fortune cookies as well as 2023 Ang Pao packets with a minimum spend of RM888 nett and above.

Reunion Set menus start from RM699 nett per person (Minimum 3 persons), Yee Sang Selections from RM158 nett (Half Portion) and runs from 1 January to 5 February 2023.

Chinese New Year celebrations at EQ Kuala Lumpur for 2023 are bountiful, with feasts and gifts for all. As has become a tradition at EQ Kuala Lumpur, the lunar new year is the time of revival for the Golden Phoenix, once the city’s most famed Chinese restaurant. There are four set dinner menus, offering some of the very best celebratory fare. Toss in abundance of wealth, good luck and happiness with Vogue Golden Yee Sang, which features a variety of fresh ingredients topped with Salmon, Ikura & Tobiko with three (3) different dressings (Yee Sang Sauce, Plum Sauce, Shallot Oil). 6. Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

At Shang Palace, the Chinese New Year Specialties menu is filled with auspicious dishes such as Poon Choi or Braised Premium assorted hot dish served in a Claypot, double-boiled Fish Maw, Abalone, Japanese dried scallops, dried Oyster braised Goose Web with Kantau Sea cucumber among others.

Poon Choi serving is available for 3 people up to 10 people and the price starts from RM588 nett up to RM2388 nett.

Five varieties of Yee Sang can also be ordered a-la-carte for dine-in or takeaway, these are (for small portions): Korean snow pear Yee Sang at RM148 nett(S)/ RM248 nett (L), Crispy Fish Skin and Jellyfish Flower Yee Sang at RM178 nett (S)/ RM278 nett (L), Smoked Salmon Yee Sang at RM188 nett (S)/ RM338 nett (L), Tempura Soft Shell crab Yee Sang at RM218 nett (S)/ RM368 nett (L) and Sliced Abalone Caviar Yee Sang at RM288 nett (S)/ RM538 nett (L).

7. Youmiqi Cusine, Jalan Klang Lama

Rather than the usual Cantonese, Hakka or Hokkien style of cuisine, you’ll be served dishes from the Shen De province of China. For 2023 they have several CNY sets from RM 788 onwards, and their healthy Yee Sang will come as part of the set.

This healthy Yee Sang is made from hand sliced fresh vegetables like purple cabbages, carrots, cucumbers and radish, with a generous amount of fresh raw Salmon.

8. Golden Valley, TTDI (Halal)

Golden Valley is one Chinese restaurant that’s suitable for company CNY dinners where colleagues come from different faiths. They’re offering the Happiness, Fortune and Auspicious sets that can be ordered for a 5 pax table or 10 pax table for 2023.

Prices start at RM549 for the 5 pax sets and RM999 for a 10 pax set. Items on the set menu include a Yam Basket with Kung Po chicken, Tiger prawns with Chef’s Special Sauce and steamed Grouper with superior soy sauce and include free flow Chinese tea, Barley or Pandan Lemongrass.

Mohd Chan serves halal Cantonese and Malay fusion cuisine, which is something different from the usual CNY fare. For 2023 they have prepared several CNY sets, but not all are available at all outlets. You must check their website for the full details.
