Gabriel & Dresden at Zouk KL 30 Jan 2018

Gabriel & Dresden at Zouk KL 30 Jan 2018

Josh Gabriel was an aspiring producer at WMC handing out his first vinyl record, and Dave Dresden was scouting new music for Pete Tong’s radio show. But what came from this chance encounter would change dance music forever, as unbeknownst to them their lucrative partnership would turn into one of the most accomplished acts of the decade, with seven IDMA award wins (including two for “Best American DJ”), 19 Billboard #1 Dance Chart hits, and a loyal fan following that would become their biggest inspiration.

For over 14 years Gabriel & Dresden have ignored trends and instead chased meaning in their productions. The quintessential definition of what they’ve dubbed “Emotional Dance Music,” their candid and unreserved approach has spawned an expansive discography of timeless classics for their fans to revel in.

After a three year hiatus that officially ended in 2011, the two embarked on an exhaustive reunion tour; playing high-profile global festivals like EDC, Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Spring Awakening, Sunburn Festival as well as club dates in over 20 countries around the world.

Despite the envelopment of EDM in popular culture, the two are sticking to their guns and following their most innate impulses. "It is always about being timeless," affirms Dresden. "We don't pay much attention to trends. We choose sounds and words that we feel will mean something to a lot of people and at the same time, make them put their hands in the air." Gabriel concludes. "We want everyone to be able share that experience with us."

Also appearing for the night will be Chukiess & Whackboi and Boris Foong
