DECEMBER 21/22: Crackhouse Presents: Mo Sidik (IDN) & Dilruk Jayasinha (AUS), with Rizal van Geyzel
Sharing the absurdities of every day life in South East Asia, these comedians try to find middle ground between Muslims both radical and "cool". 100% haha and (+/-) 100% halal, join these stalwarts of the regional comedy scene for two happy halal days which are guaranteed to make you leave feeling "Hmm. Okay. That's nice."
True to our ASEAN roots, this show features:
Mo Sidik (INDONESIA). The star of several Indonesian box office movies, Jakarta based Mo Sidik is a regional heavyweight. Having started comedy in 2011, by 2017, Mo toured over 13 countries with his critically acclaimed show #Fattitude.
Rizal van Geyzel (MALAYSIA). Balancing the fine line between profound and absurd, Rizal van Geyzel uses a combination of anecdotes and impersonations to touch on - and sometimes pokes with a fiery stick - topics ranging from the personal to the ironically political.
Dilruk Jayasinha (AUSTRALIA). Armed with an accounting degree, Dilruk Jayasinha was fired from his job at a 'Big Four' company, only to become one of Australia's favourite comedians. With close to 10 years of comedy under his belt, Dilruk has toured the world and most recently returned from a completely sold out run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Dilruk also regularly appears on the ABC and Network Ten, featuring most notably on shows such as Have You Been Paying Attention and Utopia. Tony Lakatos (www.tonylakatos.com) hails from Budapest, and moved to Frankfurt where he is highly regarded as a Saxophonist. His musical study began on the violin at the age of 6, and on the saxophone when he was 15 years old, and became a professional musician when he won a national jazz competition in 1977. Shortly after he moved to Germany in 1981, became one of the most respected saxophone player in Germany as well as worldwide
Hady took his first musical steps at the age of 8, learning the piano from his father; it wasn’t until he was 17 that Hady’s father taught him to play classical guitar, theory and how to read music. It was during this time that Hady discovered Classical music, thus beginning a love affair with classical guitar. Over the next few years he honed his skills as a guitarist (playing classical and electric guitar), developing a unique style that reflects an amalgamation of his ever expanding musical tastes. In 2004, he furthered his studies and obtained a Diploma in 2008, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Classical Guitar and Music Arrangement in 2012 at the National Academy of Arts Culture and Heritage (ASWARA).
