JULY 6/7: Everything in between: Dasha Logan

Dasha Logan has been exposed to the music scene and life of a musician before she can remember, having grown up in a musical family. Now an upcoming artist herself, she has been singing professionally for the past 3 years, but started her journey with music at the tender age of 4 when her love for performing began. At 17 she was offered her first singing gig which kicked off her life on stage and it naturally only took one performance for everyone to see what an amazing talent she has. JULY 6/7: Crackhouse presents Andy Curtain

All the way from Melbourne by way of Shanghai, Andy Curtain is living the modern Australian dream – not living in Australia. Over the last 7 years, Andy has toured through 30 cities in China, Hong Kong, Melbourne, South Korea, and now Malaysia! Having worked with the likes of Ari Shaffir, Russell Howard, and Eddie Izzard, he also runs China's *only* comedy club, Kung Fu Komedy. Host of weekly podcast Stuck in the Middle, his latest show “My Wife, The Russian” sold out in Shanghai as well as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2017.

Up to JULY 8: Hansel & Gretel: A Fairy Tale Opera

There is such a thing and it has been performed a couple of time in KL over the past 25 years. This production is presented by the Kuala Lumpur City Opera and features a new generation of homegrown performers, with Colombian guest conductor Juan Montoya also at the helm. Executive producers, Danny Chen and Ho Soon Yoon, stage director Christopher Ling, with Chang YiLing, Ho Chi Mei, Samel Lim, Cynthia Tan, Janet Lee, Bui Yik Ling and Sandy Cheng lading the cast.

JULY 6/7: A Very Indie Showcase

A very indie showcase is back for its 4th instalment and this time they bring you a glimpse of the punk rock scene, right here from our own backyard. Featured acts for the night are Trophy Knives, Sweetass and Superlove.

JULY 6/7: Bobo KL presents the Alberto Marin Flamenco Trio

Alberto returns to the Bobo stage with his raw, passionate representation of the flamenco art-form, taking you through a fast and furious flamenco journey and classic Spanish songs for an evening of pure passion. Featuring singer and flamenco guitarist Carlos Sendros from Barcelona.

JULY 6: Sandra & friends Live at Ril’s

Join them for a night of song, fun and dance. Lots of golden oldies and new twists on contemporary songs. A bit of everything. Talented Aussie singers, Vanessa and Bruce, will guest, and they’ll be supported by Sandra’s awesome band: Simmy on keyboards, Arif on sax, Ayam on drums and AJ on bass.  Expect a couple of Aussie songs to bop to, but there’ll be KC & the Sunshine Band, the two Natalies: Cole & Imbruglia, Lenka, Swift, David Essex, Captain & Tennille (yes!), Streisand, U2, Radiohead, Alicia Keyes and much, much more!

JULY 7: Saturday Night Live with Eddy Fleitas del Sol

Saturday Night Live hosts singer and composer Eddy Fleitas del Sol. Famed for his solo performances on the guitar and loop station, catch him this Saturday with a guest percussionist playing latin, pop, rock, blues and R&B from 10pm till the late night sessions.

The Malaysian jazz outfit with multiple influences, WVC, comprises of Tay Cher Siang (piano), Julian Chan (saxophones), AJ (bass) and KJ Wong (drums). This time, WVC returns to NBT stage to host an NBT jam session. Come show your skills and jam with the top jazz ensemble in the Klang Valley.

JULY 11: Open Crack

Get over that mid-week slump with a dose of comedy as it’s supposed to be – uncensored and honest. Raw, fast paced and edgy, Open Crack! Witness the grassroots comedy scene with newbies, regulars and if you’re lucky a surprise guest comic. The best 3 minute set of the night will cash RM100 AND an opportunity to perform on the weekend shows. To perform, just turn up at 8.00pm on the night itself to sign up. List closes at 8.45pm. Prepare 3 minutes of material.

JULY 11: John Thomas Quartet at NBT

John Ashley Thomas started playing drums since he was 3 years old. With credits that include working with Grammy award-winning flautist, Nestor Torres, touring the Blue Note circuit in Japan with Motown legends, The Three Degrees, and playing at numerous jazz festivals including Arts Alive Jazz Fest in South Africa and Jarasum International Jazz in South Korea. Last year John Thomas Trio completed a five city tour in China and two jazz festivals: Beishan International Jazz Festival & Hong Kong International Jazz Festival, where they had the honor of sharing a double billing with piano great Joey Calderazzo and his trio. John Thomas Quartet comprises Thomas (drums), John Dip (keys), Travis Tan (bass) and Chee Seng (guitar).

JULY 11: Bobo KL presents Brendan de Cruz

Folk-pop singer-songwriter, Brendan de Cruz with two self-produced albums to his name (‘Even So’ and ‘Black’) takes residence on all Wednesdays this month with his soulful voice and searingly emo originals.

JULY 12: Comedy Rojak

Uncensored stand-up comedy in Malay and English. Their mixed-lingo open mic show for English / BM audiences only. Its’ a mash up of Malaysian humour delivered in our mother tongue of Bahasa and the tongue of our colonial invaders.
