Led by Gareth Cheow, The Big Band was formed in December of 1998 and has played in countless various clubs in the country. Turning Back in Time at KLPAC
An evening of hits from the golden era of music, the 50s and 60s brought to you by 8-piece ensemble featuring Jeffrey Moey, Terence Lee, Soegito, John Anthony, Remy Loh, Vernon Steele, Wan Azhar and Maniam Vellasamy. For the past 14 years, klpac has transformed the arts industry and enriched the lives of more than 1 million people.
What many do not know is that klpac is a non-profit organisation. Like other arts centres such as the Sydney Opera House and Esplanade Singapore, it relies on contributions from companies and individuals to help meet its RM4.4 million yearly operating expenses.
Funds are needed not only for the upkeep of the 7,614 sqm centre but also for the Centre’s programmes to drive new content creation, talent development, community engagement and outreach. While klpac can generate income via renting its venue to third party, production ticket sales, academy short courses and currently have the support of organisations such as Yayasan Sime Darby, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, JTI Malaysia and Creador Foundation, it will still have a shortfall of RM257,000 by the end of 2020.
All ticket sales and contribution towards this concert will go directly to klpac in aid of its operating fund and the concert aim to raise RM25,000.
