Returning to Simply Jazz this Thursday 21 March 2024, it's Jordan Rivers. Known as the "George Benson of Malaysia," Jordan is a legend in the music scene, renowned for his exceptional guitar skills and captivating vocals. From sharing the stage with global icons to educating aspiring musicians, his impact is undeniable. With Michael Veerapen (piano), Marina Zaini (bass) and Steve Nanda (drums).
Meanwhile, tonight (Wednesday) 20 March 2024, special guest drummer Steve Nanda takes to the stage. Hailing from Kuala Lumpur and now based in Berlin, Steve is a multi-talented musician known for his exceptional skills on the drums, piano, and as a composer. From winning "Best Asian Drummer" at the Yamaha Asianbeat competition to collaborating with jazz legends worldwide, Steve's journey is a testament to his dedication to pushing musical boundaries and embracing cultural diversity. With the extraordinary Michael Veerapen leading the way on the piano and an ensemble of talents including Julian Chan (saxophone), Marina Zaini on bass and Cliff Wong on drums, it's a musical journey you won't want to miss.
Friday and Saturday see the one and only Junji Delfino (vocals) join Veerapen (piano), Cliff Wong (drums) and YHFoo (bass) for two evenings of jazz.

Founded by Marco Antonio Alonso, a musician, guitarist and producer hailing from Cuba and has been calling Kuala Lumpur home for the past few years. Havana Jazz Tumbao Project is a group that specializes in Cuban music and from latin america, the main purpose of the band is to expose more of the Cuban culture and music in Asia and the world.
