Friday: Jamie Wilson Trio ft John Thomas and Gideon Yogan. Jamie Wilson Trio comprises three of the top musicians in the region. Drummer John Thomas, bassist Gideon Yogan and guitarist Jamie Wilson. This group of virtuosos have played all over the world, sharing the stage with artists such as David Foster, Babyface, Boyz2men, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Walsh, Richard Marx, plus regional stars such as A-Mei, Jacky Cheung and David Tao. Covering a wide range of styles, this blues-based group play jazz, rock, funk and soul genres with a big emphasis on improvisation. JW3 is known as a world class power trio.
Saturday: Nazrin & friends. Nazrin is a guitarist / composer from Kuala Lumpur who is known for his session work with singers of various styles in the diverse creative scene in Malaysia. As a musician that loves to dabble in blues, R&B, soul, jazz, and fusion, he has worked with Asiabeat, Julian Chan Jazz Orchestra, QSound and WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble among others. Nazrin released his first EP Homecoming back in 2017, an acoustic guitar instrumental album and has recorded for various artists and projects in Kuala Lumpur. His 2019 release Revisit, recorded in trio format, showcases his idea of instrumentals that are inspired by multiple genres, with melodic and lyrical guitar playing. Digging back to his early R&B/soul influences, he will be joined by Anep (Bass), Solomon David (drums), and special guest singers, Yvonne Chong and Fidi performing his originals and favourite covers.
