London (UK) DJ/producer Mark Robinson makes a return to Le Noir Kuala Lumpur as part of his Catch/22 Global Tour roof on the 21st April 2018, a tour visiting 22 countries worldwide showcasing Mark's ability to rock whichever crowd is in front of him. From Hanoi & Moscow, LA & Bali and everywhere in between his sound always creates a unique and memorable atmosphere every time. Mark is celebrating 22 years of touring so will crown this achievement with events in the following places: Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, Estonia, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, USA, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Malta, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Norway, Scotland, South Africa and Thailand.
Roll the 22 years back, at least, Mark was playing weekly on legendary London Pirate Radio station Girls FM. At the tender age of 19, he was thrown in at the deep end making his international debut in Russia as part of a cultural exchange program organised by the British Council. Featuring two weeks of mind blowing shows in Moscow and St Petersburg all the way through provincial towns such as Izhevsk, Yaroslavl, Kazan and Novgorad, culminating in an intimate show in -40 degree Siberia, Mark had proved his credentials as a formidable international headliner.
At 20 he was one of the first DJs ever to play live at London Fashion Week and was subsequently asked by legendary fashion designer Gifi Fields to join forces with him on his new digital venture and set up and manage the ground breaking London Digital Radio station Soho Live.
Three years later, he joined legendary German label Peppermint Jam to head up and develop their group of distributed labels. One of Mark’s first signings to the label group was none other than Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records and he played a key role in their initial success. Other highlights include Nic Fanciulli’s first label Portent.
Whilst at Peppermint Jam Mark became their international tour party resident and he played alongside heavyweights such as Darren Emerson, Tim Deluxe, Dimitri from Paris, DJ Gregory, Martin Solveig, Mousse T, Bob Sinclar and many more with highlight shows in Berlin, Hong Kong, London and Belfast to name a few.
After leaving Peppermnt Jam, he toured with London clubbing brand Kinky Malinki, before moving to another successful UK based brand, Pukka Up. The already famous Ibiza Boat Party brand head hunted Mark to become a director and create their new label group and management company. Still at the helm today, Mark plays every summer in Ibiza and all around the world for the brand at their tour parties. He also heads up a group of 6 successful labels and manages all the DJs on the Pukka Up Roster.
In addition, Mark is now one of the main room residents for London's longest running Friday Night event, The Gallery at Ministry of Sound. Here he supports some of the biggest names in the game as well as representing the brand internationally on their tours.
His night in KL will be supported by DJ Mie. DJ Mie has a sophisticated appeal and charisma in putting together the best music and selection in his sets. As early as his first residency in 1993, he has always put a mark of influences on people who come to listen to his musical styles, making him one of the most sought after DJs in the industry. His versatility and efficiency in changing styles make him a proud owner of his success as a disc jockey.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, DJ Mie has been through many terrains in the club circuit gaining more experience and momentum through sheer consistency. He definitely has what it takes to entertain people from all walks of life, be it local and international. Whether he is easing them into a soulful vibe with the chill-out sounds of R&B, or lifting them up with pumping house, he knows how to rock a party.
