Bakar Purgatory is a experimental effort by Jack Malik, Azizan'Afi and Umar Azizi to explore performance art through music, theater-esque sensibilities, spoken word poetry and combining all of them into an experience. Taking influence from jazz, Malaysiana, the Avant-garde movement and beat poetry, they look into touching the theme of identity, existentialism, belonging and also love by stripping away the technicality and tapping into the more expressive side of the art.
Joining them are prolific poets Pavithrah Sambu, Farah Aiman and Kimchi Lai also musician Gemma Dass.
