Tenor Tan Chee Shen is a winner of numerous awards including the grand prize of the Singapore-Malaysia voice competition, the Bangkok Opera South-East Asia vocal competition and most recently the Bronze award of NTDTV International Chinese Singing Competition in NYC. During the summer of 2005, Chee Shen was awarded a full scholarship to attend the famed Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara , California ,where he worked with distinguished American mezzo soprano Marilyn Horne and pianist Warren Jones. He also attended the International Vocal Arts Institute at Montreal, Canada in Summer 2008. Chee Shen earned his Master of music degree from Mannes College of Music in New York where he also attended for undergraduate. At Mannes, Chee Shen sang roles such as Rinuccio and Tinca from Gianni Schichi and Il Tabarro, Don Curzio from Le Nozze di Figaro, Arturo from I Puritani, Magician from The Consul, Ferrando from Cosi fan Tutte and many more, under the baton of Maestro Joseph Colaneri from the Metropolitan Opera and also the director of Mannes Opera. For the past 3 years, he has been a freelance singer and vocal instructor in New York. Chee Shen is currently a full-time lecturer at UCSI University.

Misa Yamamoto is a versatile musician with a performing career spanning over two decades. Currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Misa travels internationally for recitals and collaborative performances. Misa is also a co-founding member of the Malaysian Piano Quartet, an ensemble specialising in 2 pianos 8 hands music established in 2016.

Growing up on the beautiful Gold Coast in Australia, Misa completed her performance degree at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, where she studied piano under Leah Horwitz. Misa went on to further her studies as a full scholarship holder at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne, where she received extensive training in solo performance and chamber music under distinguished pianists and pedagogues including Frank Wibaut, Max Olding, Piers Lane, John Perry, Igor Machlak and the late legendary Australian pianist Geoffrey Tozer.

Misa’s love of chamber music has led her to collaborate with numerous artists, including Lana Trotovsek, Mats Lidström, Alexander Baillie, John Harding, Caroline Henbest and the Henschel Quartet. She also collaborates on a frequent basis with her harpsichordist sister, Masumi. While receiving specialised performance training on the piano, Misa maintained her violin studies under the tutelage of Victoria Lakatos and Graeme Norris.

As an educator, Misa’s passion for working with children and her extensive training in pedagogy on both the piano and violin keeps her in high demand as a teacher for young beginners. Misa has served on the panel of judges for the Macau Piano Competition, the Malaysian Youth Orchestra Foundation (MYOF) Festival and the Kota Kinabalu Music Festival and is also an examiner for the Australian and New Zealand Cultural Arts Limited (ANZCA) music examinations.
