Erik Custer was born and raised in Canada, mostly Vancouver. He was an avid sportsman in his youth including playing basketball, baseball, track&field, and his primary passion, football. (aka. soccer). At the age of 21 following his graduation from the University of Victoria, he left Canada to teach English in Asia while saving for a year long world backpacking trip. The wanderlust stayed with him and following his second degree at UVIC he embarked on a career of teaching at International Schools in South Korea and Romania. In S Korea Erik played for am Irish expat Football club called Seoul Celtic and Gaelic Football with the local GAA outfit, the Seoul Gaels. These communities were heavy influences on the direction of music and culture Erik was to pursue. It was during this time he began to play music and perform publicly. From humble beginnings with his first band Quickplay he grew to record his first original album with his most recent band, The Sorted Session. Along the way he played in bands such as Vorsprung Durch Technik, The Hobbyists, HIEJ and Neigbourhood Watch. Following the launch of his album Erik moved to Dublin, Ireland to work as a pub musician in the famous Temple Bar district. He now lives in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he has started gigging again.
