Ivory Series Italian Baroque

Three centuries ago an Italian Baroque composer named Domenico Scarlatti churned out an enormous number of keyboard sonatas. Each of Scarlatti’s 555 keyboard sonatas has it’s own personality and the Spanish guitar was what influenced his compositions. Born in the same year as Scarlatti was J.S. Bach, a German composer known for composing the Italian Concerto, which consists of 3 movements: Allegro. Andante. Aside the concerto, he was also famous for his Chaconne for violin solo from the Partita No. 2 in D minor. It was transcribed for piano in 1893 by Ferruccio Busoni, adding both orchestral quality and stereophonic perception.

Mei Lin has performed in piano masterclass with world-renowned pianist-teachers such as Leon Fleisher, Byron Janis, Nina Svetlanova and the late Shura Cherkassky. A former student of Michael Ruiz at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Mei Lin Hii is a classical pianist that holds a Master of Music Degree and Professional Studies Diploma from the Manhattan School of Music in New York. There she studied with renewed teacher Zenon Fishbein.
