Kangkung Belacan is no ordinary jazz ensemble you will find in town. Musicians comprising Sabahans Alton Wong on the piano, Adriel Wong on the drums, Annabel Tiu on vocal, Eddy Lim on alto sax, and mentor Daniel Foong on bass form this group that presents jazz repertoire with a flavourful twist. The band made their debut performance last year at the 4th Malaysian Jazz Piano Festival, held at the KL Performing Arts Centre in January 2017 where they featured saxophone virtuoso and mentor, Julian Chan. The band has also been invited to performed in No Black Tie and Bobo KL in conjunction with International Jazz Day, the KK Jazz Festival, and a fusion jazz concert in Universiti Sains Malaysia last year. The band performs tunes that includes jazz standards from the swing era all the way to modern music, personalized arrangements, and original compositions, all put together to give you a satisfying meal.
