Formed in 2016 by pianist Tengku Indra, New Village Music Lab takes inspiration from Postmodern Jukebox to bring their own twist to evergreen songs with the aim to boost people’s interest in classic and modern jazz. Initially starting as a three-piece band, Tengku Indra got the idea to pull in more members in July 2016. NVML collaborates with local artists as a way of creating a platform for new faces to showcase their talent.

Lea Ismail is one of Malaysia’s upcoming home-grown artists. She’s a petite 26-year-old who discovered her voice by busking on the streets before her record producer came across her. Ismail was then approached by Melakaboy, a music composer and producer who was interested in producing her first single, Langkah Baru.
