Orquesta Yambeque

Hailing from Perth, Orquesta Yambeque is WA’s Premier Latin Ensemble working with the best latin musicians in the country. The band offers a very unique and tailor-made Salsa repertoire and has recently celebrated 4 years on the local Perth music scene lead by Band Leader Mateo Lorenzo. Yambeque feel very privileged to share and interpret all the traditional music from the Caribbean Coast of Colombia , the sound of the 70s and the Golden Era of Salsa in New York and Puerto Rico. Hear the all time greats from Havana, Cuba, and the romantic classics from Venezuela.

Yambeque performs music by Latin Legends such as: Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Oscar De Leon, Joe Arroyo, Cheo Feliciano, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Grupo Niche and many more. Not to mention Latin Jazz numbers such as “Manteca” by Dizzy Gillespie and Mambo Influenciado by Chucho Valdes and the Afro Cuban Messengers . It’s definitely a cultural experience and journey whenever you get the opportunity to see Yambeque perform Live.
