Originally from Singapore, Jocelyn Chia is currently based in New York where she made her TV debut on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live, hosted by the one and only William Shatner. A lawyer turned comedian, Jocelyn is a winner of the Gotham Comedy Club's Funniest Lawyer Competition. A guest host on MTV as well as a guest comedian on the Howard Stern Channel, Jocelyn is a two time winner of the Moth Storyslams, 2016 winner of the Ladies of Laughter Competition, and is soon to be featured on Comedy Central's Stand Up Asia 2018.

OCTOBER 5: John Thomas Trio ft Dasha Logan
Music comes to life with the John Thomas Trio. The young and talented drummer, John Ashley Thomas started playing drums since he was 3 years old. With credits that include working with Grammy award-winning flautist, Nestor Torres, touring the Blue Note circuit in Japan with Motown legends, The Three Degrees, and playing at numerous jazz festivals including Arts Alive Jazz Fest in South Africa and Jarasum International Jazz in South Korea. Last year John Thomas Trio completed a five city tour in China and two jazz festivals: Beishan International Jazz Festival & Hong Kong International Jazz Festival, where they had the honor of sharing a double billing with piano great Joey Calderazzo and his trio.
Dasha Logan has been exposed to the music scene and life of a musician before she can remember, having grown up in a musical family. Now an upcoming artist herself, she has been singing professionally for the past 3 years, but started her journey with music at the tender age of 4 when her love for performing began. At 17 she was offered her first singing gig which kicked off her life on stage and it naturally only took one performance for everyone to see what an amazing talent she has.

OCTOBER 5-7: Bobo KL presents The Shanghai Sisters
An ode to the good old Golden Days—Janet, Winnie and May are back to deliver a heady mix of Old Shanghai, Grand Malaya, and Romantic Hollywood, backed by a collection of leng chai’s led by Tay Cher Siang; the WVC—Malaysian Jazz Ensemble. OCTOBER 8: Monster Trio Yong Yandsen / Meaas Svendsen / Nilssen-Love

OCTOBER 10: Q Sound
Since moving to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009 from New York, Q Sound or better known as Marques Young has made profound contributions to the development of the growing jazz culture in Southeast Asia. Through his bands ‘Q Sound Band’ and the ‘Bassment Syndicate‘, he has led numerous performances at jazz venues throughout the region, including sold-out performances at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas as part of DFP’s Happy Hour Series.
He’s also initiated several educational projects where he has had the opportunity to mentor outstanding young jazz musicians. Among these projects, the Jazz Camp at DFP, mentored by Marques and a number of young jazz stars from New York City, resulted in his appointment as artistic director of the Encounter Jazz Program.
