Music Is Love sees the Da Funkie Junkie curated nights with Da Funkie Junkie and Aled Kubika on resident music duties.
The music policy for the night, in terms of vibe and ambience, is to capture the spirit, essence and music integrity of legendary clubs and nights like “Paradise Garage”, “Body & Soul”, “The Loft”, “The Shelter” and “Cielo” in New York; “The Warehouse” and “Music Box” in Chicago, and more contemporary clubs like “Respect Is Burning” and “Secret” in Paris; the early days of “Ministry of Sound” and the funk and cheekiness of “Scaramanga” in London.
According to Da Funkie Junkie, aka Donovan Tho, the focus is to capture and innovate, but not duplicate.
The musical ethos is inspired by legendary DJs Larry Levan and David Mancuso and their modern incarnations, Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro and Danny Krivit.
The early hours will provide customers with an opportunity to discover the “roots” of dance music i.e. soul, funk, jazz, disco and Afro-latin beats. The latter stages of the night will build towards current and classic deep soulful house, disco house and garage.
As Bait Intermark is a restaurant cum bar and not a full-fledged club, the music will be down-tempo to mid-tempo but uplifting, exuding positive energy. The music will be soulful and organic, classy and elegant.

Kuma goes house, disco house and chill at this new cocktail bar in Chinatown. He’s one of a handful of established Malaysian DJs who plays across Asia and Europe with his signature underground techno and techno-based sounds.
Over the past two decades, he’s earned himself something of a name in the Asian underground house music community, taking the music to dance floors across Asia, including the likes of Embassy (Philippines), Sound Club (Thailand), Womb (Tokyo), and festivals such as the Full Moon party on the beach of Haadrin in Koh Pangan (Thailand), Epizode (Vietnam), regular Jungle Experience (Koh Phangan) appearances to add to appearances in Berlin, Marseille, Amsterdam and Ibiza.

The KL-born actor, DJ, musician and model has been active since 2005 through the band Red Dragon and was active as a DJ at leading clubs in KL. He was first tracked by DJ Fuzz in school and later joined the Dragon Red group as a turntablist; the band won the Best New Local English Artist award at the 14th Malaysian Music Industry Awards in 2007.
