Friday: The Frankie Sixes: Swing jazz band with some familiar faces from the Malaysian music scene. The band, a side project of singer-songwriter Reza Salleh, started out playing for lindy hop dancers in the local scene. Reza is an AIM award-winning singer-songwriter and a regular face in the independent music scene. His debut album Realize topped radio charts the year of its release and has led him to performances in Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Laos, Indonesia and Singapore. Reza is the main vocalist of the band. Along with Ee Jeng on keyboards, Che Wan on double bass, and KJ on drums. Expect to hear the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and a Lil’ bit of Nat “King” Cole thrown in for good measure. Be prepared to move your feet.
Saturday: Nisa Addina. Contemporary violinist, composer and producer born and raised in the city of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Nisa has released a debut EP Yakina produced by Syafiee Obe and an album dedicated to the Malaysian music icon, P. Ramlee. With Jo Khor (violin), Cheryl Choi (viola), Stephen Johnson (cello), Jeremy James Kong (guitar), Jason Lim Kian Seng (piano), Nathanael Simon (bass), Abbas Munawar (drums).

Russell Curtis and The Rowdy Gentlemen (“RCRG”) features a line up of 7 accomplished musicians with a mini horn section and renowned Music Director Tok Khon (“TK”) at the helm of bringing Curtis’ compositions to life. RCRG performs a mix of original and creatively reworked covers, culminating in a high energy performance of funk, soul and hip – hop. Originally a backing band of session musicians for the Russell Curtis Project tour in 2014 and subsequent shows throughout 2015/16, they were officially renamed Russell Curtis & The Rowdy Gentlemen in April 2017. RCRG released their first single Anak Malaysia, a funky tune about how cool it is to be Malaysian, in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2017.
