REXKL: Wind-Up Gramophone DJ 25/26 July 2020

Wind-Up Gramophone DJ – yes, you read right. Go check out their wind-up gramophone DJ performing tunes from the 1920s and 1930s on antique acoustic gramophones. Enjoy music played with no electricity. Caleb Goh will be showcasing 2 machines built in 1919 and 1927 respectively. All non-electric. Plus, the records are Pre-World War 1, from the 1910s to 1920s; before vinyl records were even invented. KLPac Yesterday Once More 3 22 – 26 July 2020

After three long months, KLPac is finally back. Celebrate with them and be a part of this historic performance to commemorate their re-opening and also to honour everyone’s resilience in the face of this devastating pandemic. Now, it’s time to soothe your soul and nourish your heart with some timeless tunes. After two-sold out editions, klpac is bringing you Yesterday Once More 3 from TODAY to 26 July. In the earlier editions, they performed hits from the 50s up to the 70s but this time, they are rewinding the clock a bit more. Yesterday Once More 3 will be giving you some favourites from the 40s to the 60s, a time when swing, big band and jazz was all the rage, and stars like Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley made their warm velvety vocals accessible to everyone. Why not just Runaway now, Sway, come and do the Jailhouse Rock together at Yesterday Once More 3. Directed by Ian Chow, it will be performed by Joel Wong, Lai Suk Yin, Omar Ali, Rachel Liu, Serene Chng and Vale Wong backed by a 5-piece band comprising Jing Xiuan (music director/pianist), Lee Hui Yin (keyboardist), Coebar Abel (lead guitarist), Alex Lee (percussionist) and bassist Iqbal R. The performance will be a compact 65-minute show without intermission. klpac has taken comprehensive measures for the well-being of our patrons and artists in adherence to MKN’s SOPs. Prior to entering, there’ll be a health screening and patrons must wear a mask.

Malaysian Musicians Food Bazaar 24 – 30 July 2020

Head over to the Hartamas area The week-long event will feature delicious Malaysian cuisine paired with melodious music at the iconic Link Bridge, which straddles Plaza Damas 3 and Hartamas Shopping Centre in KL. Patrons shall be able to feast on a wide variety of authentic local and international delicacies, prepared by the musicians. The sale of food shall be coupled with Live busking events at allocated spots nearby. It will also feature a Durian Fruit Stall and sales of local handicraft and speciality items.

The Russell Curtis Homecoustic Sessions is an intimate acoustic show streamed live weekly on Saturdays to the comfort of your home for the affordable price of only RM25 per pass.
