Malaya Disco Party brings a friend from Bandung, Indonesia – Kimoji, a selector from Bandung who gets paris van java dancing with his tunes. Favouring disco, nu-disco and edits, Kimoji has played in numerous clubs and lounges all over Bandung and Jakarta and this will be his first Malaysia show.
Lionel Rizki helms the night as well. As a selector, his favoured sound is a range of disco and electronic sounds with groovy beats, horns and synths from the late 70s that is guaranteed to get the dance floor down to boogie. As a Japanophile, audiences are often treated to the odd city pop single, Shibuya kei track and event themes from recent Nippon productions. Expect Indonesian disco to be included in his selections inspired by his recent rediscovery of his hometown. He is also the head of Marketing and PR for SaturdaySelects, a collective, platform and record label that consists of creatives & musicians from around the world and a member of Public School, focusing on leftfield music which is deemed unacceptable to be played at clubs.

Music Is Love sees the Da Funkie Junkie curated nights with Da Funkie Junkie and friends on resident music duties. The music policy for the night, in terms of vibe and ambience, is to capture the spirit, essence and music integrity of legendary clubs and nights like “Paradise Garage”, “Body & Soul”, “The Loft”, “The Shelter” and “Cielo” in New York; “The Warehouse” and “Music Box” in Chicago, and more contemporary clubs like “Respect Is Burning” and “Secret” in Paris; the early days of “Ministry of Sound” and the funk and cheekiness of “Scaramanga” in London.
The musical ethos is inspired by legendary DJs Larry Levan and David Mancuso and their modern incarnations, Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro and Danny Krivit. The early hours will provide customers with an opportunity to discover the “roots” of dance music i.e. soul, funk, jazz, disco and Afro-latin beats. The latter stages of the night will build towards current and classic deep soulful house, disco house and garage.
