Having always been obsessed with music, Alam decided to push himself by testing the waters of his musical inspiration. Today, this DJ/Producer has made a name for himself, not only is he one of the backbones behind Kuala Lumpur's leading music establishments, but he has definitely proven himself to be considered as one of the prominent generation of DJs firing up the local and international clubbing scene.
Since beginning his career 16 years ago, Alam has held up residencies at most of the major venues around town, including Kuala Lumpur’s premier underground club; The Backroom*KL, while making guest appearances at the legendary Zouk Club, Ministry of Sound KL and Elysium, to name a few. Over the years, Alam has established himself as a reputable individual driven to expand his creative potential with international tours around the region, having received the utmost respect from iconic landmarks such as Eden & Es Paradis (Ibiza), Kyo & Kilo (Singapore), Oma (Hong Kong), Mustache (Bangkok), Full Moon Party (Koh Phangan), Cha Cha Moon & Nikki Beach (Koh Samui), as well as Indonesia’s infamous Stadium & Embassy / Co2 (Jakarta).
After 7 years based overseas, Alam has returned home to KL and joined Ohrwurm as a third partner. Ohrwurm is recognized as one of the few well-respected institutions that continue to push quality shows in its homeland.
On the production note, his ‘Kaleidosimple EP’ is released on Redflux Cinnabar through Beatport and Juno Download, with remixes from Nick Robson, Rodrigo Soria, and Yuuki Hori.
In 2014, Alam launched his own recording studio named Decibel Soundlab, which is a one-stop resource for all kinds of audio related productions.
Currently a resident of Kyo KL, he has always been upfront with what he does; showing his versatility by exploring diverse forms of style and genre, with his smooth blends of house music to his unparalleled selection of techno grooves. Regardless, he always manages to deliver an experience of sound, which leaves the crowd with wanting more.
Connected is a group of DJs and music lovers committed to promote the music they love in the place they love - KL. They are all about bringing together local, regional and international DJ's/Producers and highlighting their talent to the music lovers of KL. REN: DJ Hawk. In mid 2011, Hakim a.k.a. DJ HAWK, started off fooling around with a free DJ software which has piqued his interest towards DJ-ing. Realising that his interest is not a mere hobby, he decided to explore his passion and enrolled into Maddkidz Studio in 2012, where he quickly learnt the foundation of DJing. Following the completion of the course, DJ HAWK was born, a stage name consisting a wordplay on his given name. He then proceed to play in several gigs and parties, using them as opportunities to perfect his skills. Through experience, he was quickly able to build his platform and gained the reputation as an open format DJ. His style covers genres from retro, hip hop and R&B, commercial, house to the current EDM.

Saturdays at Bait Intermark on Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur sees the Da Funkie Junkie curated Music is Love nights with Da Funkie Junkie and Kubika on resident music duties.
The music policy for the night, in terms of vibe and ambience, is to capture the spirit, essence and music integrity of legendary clubs and nights like “Paradise Garage”, “Body & Soul”, “The Loft”, “The Shelter” and “Cielo” in New York; “The Warehouse” and “Music Box” in Chicago, and more contemporary clubs like “Respect Is Burning” and “Secret” in Paris; the early days of “Ministry of Sound” and the funk and cheekiness of “Scaramanga” in London.
According to Da Funkie Junkie, aka Donovan Tho, the focus is to capture and innovate, but not duplicate.
The musical ethos is inspired by legendary DJs Larry Levan and David Mancuso and their modern incarnations, Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro and Danny Krivit.
The early hours will provide customers with an opportunity to discover the “roots” of dance music i.e. soul, funk, jazz, disco and Afro-latin beats. The latter stages of the night will build towards current and classic deep soulful house, disco house and garage.
As Bait Intermark is a restaurant cum bar and not a full-fledged club, the music will be down-tempo to mid-tempo but uplifting, exuding positive energy. The music will be soulful and organic, classy and elegant.
